The advantages of corrected safety eyewear

An integrated prescription safety lens combines vision correction, protection and comfort in one product — without the compromises of over-goggles.

One pair, not two

No stacked glasses, no pressure points, no constant readjusting. The correction is built right into the safety lens.

Clear vision, no reflections

Lenses made to the wearer's prescription — no heat chamber, no fogging, no slowed reaction time.

Secure fit & comfort

Frame and lenses are matched to the wearer. The glasses stay in place and are kept on.

Legal certainty for employers

Properly protected employees are not tempted to remove their safety eyewear — reducing employer liability risk.

Our position

We stand by the optician's craft.

Prescription eye protection is not a mail-order product. It is craftsmanship — and the local optician is the guarantor of quality, safety and fit.

Prescription safety eyewear only protects when the prescription is taken accurately, the frame is fitted precisely and the wearer is properly advised. That is decided in a conversation with a qualified optician, not in an online form.

That is why every path to UNICOindividual leads through the specialist store. We deliver the system — the optician delivers the care.

  • Refraction by a professional

Eye testing to optometric standards — no self-measurement, no guesswork.

  • Fitted to the person

Fit, pupillary distance and seating are checked and adjusted on site.

  • Long-term care

Service, repairs and regular eye checks stay in local hands.

UV protection filter — relevant for welding, outdoor sites and UV-emitting processes.
EN 172
Sunglare filter for industrial use — glare protection outdoors.

We work with a network of qualified opticians across the DACH region — so every prescription is correctly refracted, individually fitted and properly looked after.

Frequently asked questions

What buyers and safety officers want to know.

Does the employer have to pay for prescription safety eyewear?

Yes. If safety eyewear is required at the workplace and the employee needs vision correction, prescription safety eyewear counts as personal protective equipment — and must be provided by the employer.

How does the eye test work?

Refraction is performed by our specialist partner — either at the optician's shop or, from 10 employees upward, directly at your site.

How long does delivery take?

Usually two to three weeks from receipt of the prescription. For larger projects we phase the rollout.

How do you care for the eyewear?

Clean with a microfibre cloth and mild cleaner, with an annual check at the specialist partner — protective function and fit are reviewed at the same time.

What warranty applies?

Frames and lenses carry the statutory warranty; in case of material defects we replace quickly.

Can the eyewear be combined with existing PPE?

Yes. We make sure the chosen model is compatible with helmet, hearing and respiratory protection.
