How to choose correctly

4 steps to the right safety glasses.

Safety glasses only work well if they match the specific hazard, the wearer and the standard. This guide helps you structure the process.

Frequently asked questions

What safety officers often ask.

Do my employees need prescription safety glasses?

As soon as employees permanently wear corrective glasses and eye protection is mandatory at their workplace, prescription safety glasses are the right solution. Overglasses are suitable for occasional tasks or visitors.

Which standard applies to welding work?

For flame cutting, brazing and gas welding, the base standard EN 166 is used in combination with the protection filter standard EN 169 (fixed protection levels). For arc welding, welding shields to EN 175 are used.

How do I care for the glasses correctly?

Clean regularly with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Avoid chemical cleaning agents, as these often damage the coatings.

How long can safety glasses be used?

With normal use, we recommend an inspection every 12 months and replacement in case of visible damage, scratches in the field of view or a change in prescription.

Do you also supply documentation for our safety officers?

Yes — for every pair of safety glasses, you can request a declaration of conformity as well as a handover report per employee. This significantly simplifies audit readiness.
