Tests directly at the workplace conducted by AUVA

On the initiative of Ing. Hanspeter Kien of voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH, the "Flinc IR 1.7" was subjected to extensive tests by AUVA directly at the workplace under practical conditions as test eyewear. One of the core tasks of AUVA (Allgemeine Unfallversicherungsanstalt), Austria's largest statutory accident insurance institution, is the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. In the course of the prevention work the suitability of the safety eyewear for the protection of the eyes against excessive infrared radiation was determined by DI Dr. Emmerich Kitz by measurements and tests on site. High infrared protection and at the same time high light transmission are the requirements placed on the workplaces in forging and continuous casting. "Flinc IR 1.7" is the first safety eyewear to meet these requirements according to EN 171. voestalpine Stahl Donawitz GmbH is thus able to meet the requirements of VOPST (Optical Radiation Ordinance) for the protection of the eyes at the named workplaces. Positive feedback from the staff also confirms the approach taken.
